Doctors of Chiropractic look for any joints in the spine that are stuck or misaligned. We call a joint that is not moving correctly a “subluxation”. We do a thorough exam and use x-rays, state of the art technology, and our hands to find these misalignments in your spine that are causing your pain. 

When Chiropractors find a joint that is stuck, we deliver an adjustment to restore proper motion to the joint. This takes pressure off of the nerves surrounding that joint and helps the connected muscles to relax.

Many people think of Chiropractors as “back doctors” or “bone doctors”. While we do focus on the structure of the bones and the balance of the spine, we are also nervous system doctors. That is because every chiropractic adjustment is like a reset to the nervous system and can improve nerve function. This is the reason we often hear patients say, “After my adjustment I saw improvements in my anxiety, asthma, constipation, sleep, allergies, ADHD, blood pressure”, etc. That is not because chiropractic seeks to cure or treat any of these symptoms. However, when we balance the spine and reboot the nervous system, the body can do amazing things to heal itself!
